When ever Cobby and I are having Kuay Chap dinner at Toa Payoh, we'll always share one of our favourite popiahs. This store has been here since the 70s? Maybe longer.
The stewed turnip is very nice and flavourful with a good texture. I especially love the slight hint of fresh mince garlic smeared onto the popiah skin, along with their firery chilli paste. I also love the crispy bits inside, what is it? I think its peanuts. Wrap up all the goodies with their handmade popiah skin, 1 roll is usually not enough. YUM~!
Oh if you're feeling adventurous you can even buy the popiah skins from the boss and make popiahs at home! :)
